Travelling to the Destination Glossa

Glossa is situated in the north part of Skopelos and is the second largest settlement of the island. Its architecture is similar to the one of the villages of Pilio and it’s no wonder that is called the “balcony of the Aegean”. It’s built amphitheatrical over the port of Loutraki with a magnificent view of Skiathos and Evoia.

Whentravelling to the destination Glossa you reach the port of Loutraki. It’s a small port where a few hotels, shops and taverns can be found. From there you walk up the hill to the village of Glossa with its traditional two two-storey houses with red tile roofs and wooden balconies. It’s an area rich in springs, olive trees, plum and almond trees. Both Glossa and Loutraki are of great archaeological interest, where you can see many ancient towers, retaining walls and ruins of Roman baths. Visitors should have visited at least one of the many monasteries that can be found all over the island before their departure with ferries from Glossa. The settlement is an ideal destination for tourists who prefer quiet holidays since there are not many activities and entertaining things to do. The islands beaches are small and pebbly,some well-organized and other accessible only through specific paths.
