Navigazione Libera Del Golfo’s history dates back to 1953 while it is owned by the Aponte family whose origins in maritime transportation dates back to the 17th century. Its first operations began with two motor ships and in 1981, after some successful years, they started increasing and upgrading their fleet with faster and more modern ones. Now, the current fleet is composed of 12 vessels, both hydrofoils and catamarans, which all guarantee frequent crossings to the Italian beauties with safety, swiftness and high standards.
The carrier’s newest and enormous investment is the Jumbo Jet which is considered to be one of the fastest ferries regarding its size, in the Gulf of Naples, Campanian Archipelago.
The carrier is offering connections from Italy's mainland to the major islands in the Gulf of Naples, to Sorrento Peninsula, to Amalfi Coast, to Pontine Islands but also to the Tremiti Islands too, on the opposite side of eastern Italy.
It is worth noting that all its vessels are not capable of carrying vehicles but only bicycles. On board, you can find many amenities though, such as air conditioned areas with comfortable armchairs suitable for short naps, a bar where you can enjoy a cold refreshment and a special baggage area which demands a small extra cost, in case that you carry more than one bag with you. You are also allowed to bring your pet along under specific conditions.
