Sami is 22 kilometers from Argostoli the capital of Kefalonia. According to the 2011 census, it has 1,025 residents. Ferry routes Sami start from the port of Killini and Patra. The port is also connected during the summer month through local ferries to the nearby Ionian islands of Zakynthos and Ithaka.
